The bridge of Arta
Our team, participating in the celebration of World Theatre Day
jointly organized by eight Greek theater groups in Brussels
on March 29 and 30, 2025 at the de Lijsterbes theater,
presented a theatrical performance of the well-known folk song
"The bridge of Arta".
The reason and inspiration for this was the 'physical theatre and use of masks' seminar
organized by our group in June 2024, presented by Thodoris Economidis

WORLD THEATRE DAY 2025
JOINT CELEBRATION BY THE GREEK THEATRE GROUPS OF BELGIUM
"Scenes from the Greek Theater"
A theatrical event to celebrate World Theatre Day with the participation of Greek theatre groups in Brussels in a joint performance. This event is being held for the fifth time in 2025. This day is celebrated every year on March 27, established in 1962 by the International Theatre Institute, the most important international non-governmental organization in the field of theatre, founded in 1948 in Prague at the initiative of UNESCO, and celebrated in over 100 countries. The principles that we all honor together on this day are the role of theatre in society, its contribution to mutual understanding between individuals and peoples, and the exercise of cultural expression without discrimination based on age, gender, beliefs or nationality.
We invite the theater-loving public to honor this day, firstly for the symbolism it contains and secondly, in the same frame of mind, for the stage collaboration of the Greek theater groups of Brussels – which are more than those of any other “foreign” language spoken in this city – in a common spectacle, with the prospect of holding similar joint events and then, with your support.
